From Mercedes NA’s west coast distribution center.

Where is their west coast facility? I live right by BMW’s and VAG’s technical centers but I can’t find Mercedes.

It’s down in Long Beach

That one at the end of the row in single tone black and steelies. 10/10 would hoon.

Is that their west coast testing facility, or is it just a distribution facility?

These actually look really stylish. Good job Mercedes on the styling.

Just distribution, I believe

I hate the hood on the new ones:
The smooth slope on the old ones fit the design much better.

I honestly don’t find it that bad.

Emission testing and durability testing are also in Long Beach but at different non-descript building. Those Smart cars are the electric version built by Tesla

Makes sense since it’s Long Beach. BMW is right down the street from the Port Hueneme port and I know they use that facility for service campaigns before the cars go out to dealers. But I also know they use it as a testing facility as I’ve seen Mini’s, the new 7 in full top secret camo, and a lighter-but-still-full-camo 5 Series.
I know Volkswagen’s facility in Oxnard though is mainly an emissions lab. It’s the only other lab in the world outside of Germany where a VAG can be certified. It’s also the only Bugatti service center on the Western Hemisphere. So cool!

I like seeing the exposed steelies on the Pure model at the back. They eventually get covered with plastic wheel covers. =/

*Renault (Just kidding, pretty sure Benz did the body, but underneath it’s an unholy amalgam of French and German bits)
